Green Bay announces “Summer in the City” events
GREEN BAY - Need something to do this summer? Many communities have lots of choices.
Green Bay announced its "Summer in the City" events Wednesday.
Downtown Green Bay, Inc. says there are 164 options, up from 125 last year.
Each one is locally-sponsored and in the downtown area of Green Bay, including the new site for the Saturday farmers market.
Mayor Jim Schmitt believes Green Bay is the best city to showcase creative talent.
"This is happening the way we expected it to and that's to be an area in Northeast Wisconsin that attracts and retains creative talent,” said Mayor Schmitt. “We’re not a suburb, we're a city. And we're a city that has the best of the best when it comes to restaurants, business, and events.”
The events range from festivals to live outdoor music.
