GREEN BAY - You may have seen more women than usual dressed in the color red.
Wednesday was the tenth annual Go Red for Women luncheon. It was put on by the American Heart Association.
This year's event was held at Oneida Country Club in Green Bay.
Heart disease is the number one killer among women.
The speakers shared their stories of survival and reminded everyone the importance of heart health.
"Women should be focusing on themselves, even if it's just for a half hour a day, going for a walk, or making a commitment to eating a little healthier, because those simple little steps will save lives in the long run,” Deb DeLeers, Go Red for Women event chair.
FOX 11’s Michelle Melby emceed the event.
FOX 11 is a proud sponsor of the American Heart Association.
