WAUPACA (WLUK) - It's all about strawberries in Waupaca this weekend.

The city is holding its 29th annual Strawberry Fest.

The "sweet" event takes place downtown, along Main Street from June 16 through 18.

Saturday, over 150 vendors from across the Midwest set up shop.

There was also a strawberry shortcake eating contest, live music and a petting zoo.

Organizers say the festival has a variety of things for families to enjoy.

"It's just a beautiful day to stroll around Waupaca," said Mitchell Swenson, Vice President of Tourism for the Waupaca Area Chamber of Commerce. "While you're here, check out many of our downtown businesses and shops, and just enjoy our great Waupaca area."

The festival runs until 5 p.m. Sunday.
