Slow-no-wake order ending on Wolf River in Waupaca Co.
UPDATE: The order ends at noon May 12.
WAUPACA COUNTY (WLUK) -- Starting at 3 p.m. Friday, boaters will have to slow down on the Wolf River in Waupaca County.
County emergency management officials say rain in the forecast has led them to declare a flood emergency for waters south of the City of New London. That means there will be a slow-no-wake order in that area.
The order requires boaters to operate at slow-no-wake speeds within 500 feet of any permanent building.
The order will be in effect until county officials determine waters have receded to non-threatening levels.
