RIPON (WLUK) -- New York-based Simply Natural Foods has purchased one of the closed cookie factories in Ripon.

Workers at the former Ripon East plant will be producing wafer cookie products similar to those previously produced as Rippin' Good cookies. Some of the new cookies will be healthier varieties.

Right now there's a skeleton staff in there working to bring the plant back up to full production capacity. Fond du Lac County officials and the company are meeting this week to discuss how many will be employed and when the facility should be fully ready.

TreeHouse Foods closed the Ripon East plant last year after buying it from ConAgra Foods. ConAgra closed another plant in the complex, the Ripon West plant, in 2015.
