Oshkosh police identify officers in fatal shooting
OSHKOSH (WLUK) -- The Oshkosh Police Department has released the names of the officers involved in the fatal shooting of a man earlier this week.
Officers Aaron Achterberg and Kyle Roberts were involved in the Monday death of Isaiah Tucker, 28.
Police have said Tucker drove a car at an officer as they were responding to a report of a burglary. Officers shot at the car, but Tucker got away, police have said. The vehicle was found a few blocks away, and Tucker was found hiding in a shed, according to the police department. Officers tried to save his life, police say, but Tucker later died at the hospital.
Police have not specified what role Achterberg or Roberts played in the shooting.
Both officers were placed on administrative leave as the investigation continues, which is standard procedure, the police department says. The investigation has been turned over to the state Division of Criminal Investigation.
Achterberg has been an Oshkosh police officer for nine years; Roberts for six.
