NEW LONDON DUBLIN (WLUK) -- It's the time of year when New London tries to capture some luck of the Irish by changing its name to New Dublin.

A roving band of leprechauns was spotted Monday morning changing the city's signs to New Dublin.

It's part of a week of Irish-themed festivities, culminating in the annual St. Patrick's Day Parade on Saturday.

"We do it, really, to show our Irish pride and heritage that's really thick in this community," said Robert Leahy, one of the organizers of New Dublin festivities. "We have a ton of tremendous Irish people that have celebrated their heritage over the years."

The city's name returns to New London next week.
