Man charged in connection with Appleton bar shooting, pleads not guilty
APPLETON (WLUK) -- The man accused in a fight that led to a deadly Appleton shooting plead not guilty in court Friday.
Henry Nellum is facing a murder charge in the death of Jimmie Sanders, even though Sanders was shot by an officer.
According to police, Nellum fired a gun during an argument at Jack's Apple Pub in May.
Appleton Police Officer Jay Steinke responded and authorities say tried to shoot at Nellum, instead shooting and killing Sanders.
Steinke was cleared of any wrongdoing.
Nellum is due back in court Sept. 26.
