Fond du Lac police investigate shots fired
FOND DU LAC (WLUK) -- Flashing lights and sirens brought John Hansen to his window Monday night.
"We saw the flashing lights, apparently shortly after this whole incident. They were out there for well over an hour," Hansen explained.
Hansen lives off 4th Street in Fond du Lac, where police received multiple reports of gunshots.
"Officers responded and couldn't find anything other than shell casings that were left in the street," said Asst. Police Chief Steve Thiry.
Tiry says there were no injuries, or property damage found in the area.
But he says neighbors did provide a description of a vehicle that may be connected, "Someone did see a dark colored sedan leaving the area, that is a potential suspect vehicle we're are looking for."
Shortly after that call on 4th Street, authorities say they received several calls of additional shots being fired.
"I believe 15 different individuals that had heard additional shots being fired throughout the city," Thiry, told FOX 11.
After following up on each call, he says their searches turned up empty.
Tiry says it's unclear if the incidents are all connected, "It's unknown at this time. If they're related, it's possible it could be from the same incident, but we don't know."
As police search for answers, both Thiry and Hansen says they're happy no one was injured.
"We're certainly pleased no one was hurt, but anytime there's gunshots in the city, we take that seriously," said Thiry.
"No real damage, or injuries, so we were happy about that," further explained Hansen.
