Five charged in Menominee, Mich. school vandalism case

MENOMINEE, Mich. - Initial court appearances are scheduled for Wednesday for five teens charged with allegedly vandalizing a school in Menominee, Michigan.

The damaged was discovered on May 5 at the junior and senior high school.

Ryan Phillipps, 18, Shaun Sullivan, 18, Quin Kovar, 18, Tyler Howell, 18, and Matthew Neilio, 17, each face two misdemeanor counts for breaking and entering, and malicious destruction of a building.

School officials say the vandals sprayed shaving cream on desks, and also spread cooking oil, fish heads and toilet paper on things.

The damage is estimated at more than $1,000.

The criminal complaint says the five confessed to officers.
