Firefighters Chili Cook-Off making a difference for children with cancer
GREEN BAY (WLUK) -- A number of firefighters in our area are making a difference for children diagnosed with cancer.
They put down their hoses and picked up the spoons for the fourth annual Firefighters Chili Cook-off.
Four departments participated in Thursday's event.
People were encouraged to donate at least $5 for a bowl of chili.
Proceeds from the cook-off benefits Families of Children with Cancer and stay in the community.
"All their money stays local, right here in Northeast Wisconsin. Do incredible things in the community with families that are going through tough times with their children," said Chad Bronkhorst of Green Bay Metro Fire Department.
FOX 11's Pete Petoniak had the pleasure of eating and grading each batch of chili.
