GREEN BAY - Even before the news came that Brett Favre would become the 154th member of the Packers Hall of Fame, 2015 was already going to be a milestone year for the home of Packers history.2015 will mark the hall's 45th anniversary. Plus, in April, the hall's newly renovated space will open on the first and second floors of the Lambeau Field Atrium."So if you look, it's all laid out kind of perfectly," said Perry Kidder, the president of the Packers Hall of Fame, Inc. "That didn't just happen by circumstance."Former team President Bob Harlan worked with Favre on the timeline over the past several months. That includes the decision to retire Favre's jersey on the same night as his team hall of fame induction ceremony on July 18, 2015."We think that will cap off what will already be an incredible evening," said Mark Murphy, Packers President & CEO."It's more than a dream come true," said Favre. "I'm truly honored and it is time to come back."It will be the sixth time in the hall of fame's history that an enshrinement class will include only one player. The hall's founder Bill Brault, Harlan, general manager Ron Wolf, coach Mike Holmgren, and Reggie White previously went in alone."Truly each and every one of them made contributions to this team that were long lasting and deserved to be recognized on their own," said Kidder. The demand to attend Favre's ceremony is expected to top all others. That's why a task force has been formed just to plan for the special night."In past banquets we've basically used the atrium floor," said Kidder. "We are now looking at using other levels in the atrium as well and any other possible solutions we have to try and accommodate as many Packers fans as we can."The team plans to announce ceremony details as soon as they are finalized.
