APPLETON - One woman has died after a crash involving two mopeds on Saturday.
Appleton police responded to a call near the intersection of North Meade Street and East Summer Street at 10:25 a.m.
Officials say the two mopeds were traveling together when the front wheel of one moped came into contact with the rear wheel of the other moped and caused the lead moped driver to crash.
The lead moped driver, a 52-year-old woman from Appleton, was transported to a local hospital for head injuries.
She was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The other driver, a 52-year-old man from Appleton, was not injured.
This crash is still being investigated. Neither alcohol, nor speeds, appears to be factors in the crash.
