ALLOUEZ - People who wanted to escape to a simpler time in American history, looked no further than Heritage Hill Sunday.
Civil War reenactors took over the grounds, showing off 19th century weapons and clothes.
Visitors could interact with the actors and learn about military strategy.
Many reenactors travel around the country, making Allouez a regular stop.
"There's been a long relationship with the reenactors and Heritage Hill and this group, the second Wisconsin, they've been doing this for a very very long time. These men and women come from all over the country actually doing this," said interpretive events coordinator Kayla Filen.
The day included a special treat for kids. They could join either side and learn about marching and training from soldiers.
