Church makes a difference with clothes, prayers
APPLETON - A free giveaway in downtown Appleton was making a difference for others Saturday.
The church also offered their prayers and support to anyone who wanted it.
Volunteers set up the clothes giveaway at the downtown Appleton Valley Transit Station.
Anyone could stop and shop.
Church officials say they feel it's important to get outside their church and into the community.
"We're out here meeting the needs of the community. It's good to pray for them, but you have to meet the natural need with some clothes and then we can pray for them," said Rev. Alvin Dupree, Family First Ministries.
This was the second year for the event. It was held in partnership with the transit station.
