Children in need pick out new bicycles
GREEN BAY (WLUK) -- For the third year in a row, Contract Transport Services (CTS) is gifting new bikes to deserving children in northeast Wisconsin.
About 65 bikes were donated by CTS employees and others in the community.
On Sunday, kids got to pick out their very own bike.
Organizers says many of the kids who benefit from this drive come from struggling households.
"The parents many times struggle just to put food on the table and pay the rent and utilities and so the opportunity to receive a brand new shiny bicycle for their child or children means that Christmas came early for some of them," said Glen Tilot, a social worker with Brown County Health and Human Services.
Foundations of Health and Wholeness and the Brown County Pals Program were partners to help chose the lucky recipients.
