Burglary, manhunt suspect sentenced
MARINETTE (WLUK) – One of two burglary suspects who were the subject of a weekend-long manhunt in Marinette County in April was sentenced Monday to six years in prison.
Ashley Niewierowski was sentenced to five years in prison for armed burglary, and another year in prison for stealing a vehicle, according to court records. Another 18-month sentence for fleeing an officer count will be served concurrently.
Nine other counts were previously dismissed.
Niewierowski and Chad Setunsky allegedly stole an ATM from a Stephenson convenience store on the morning of April 8. After an extensive search, the pair was arrested the following afternoon.
FOX 11 was there when she was arrested, where Niewierowski said, “I didn’t want to do any of this.”
Besides the same twelve counts Niewierowski faces for the April 8-9 incident, Setunsky faces 29 other counts – mostly theft, burglary and criminal damage to property – for other, previous incidents. He is scheduled to stand trial Jan. 31, and returns to court next on Oct. 16 for a motions hearing.
