Brown County reminds drivers to 'Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over'
GREEN BAY (WLUK) -- With the holidays comes plenty of celebrating and local law enforcement are making sure you stay safe.
The 'Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over' campaign ramps up again for the next few weeks, to keep our roads free of drunk drivers.
So far this year in Brown County, 25 fatal crashes have occurred, and more than half of them involved alcohol or drugs.
Local law enforcement has some reminders for preparing ahead of time.
"First off, buckle up. Be patient and alert while driving. Secondly, if you're going to be drinking, get a designated driver. I mean, it's that simple, to have someone that's not going to be drinking-- drive you around, so that you guys can enjoy the holidays," said Brown County Capt. Dan Sandberg.
Sandberg also says to speak up if you see poor decisions being made around you.
The OWI task force will be out multiple times over the next few weeks, making sure the roads are clear of intoxicated drivers through the holiday season.
