BROWN COUNTY - People are honoring hundreds of active duty military and veterans at the Brown County Fair this weekend.
It's all part of the annual "Veterans/Military Appreciation Day."
This year, organizers gave special recognition to veterans who served our country during the Korean War era.
A commemorative ceremony Saturday evening paid tribute to the veterans and each one was presented with a certificate of appreciation.
"If you look back in history, the Korean War was always called the Forgotten War. And today we're remembering," said Brown Co. Veterans Committee Chair Bernie Erickson.
"We took care of many of the fellas that were serving, were coming back from Korea, and I was a nurse, as I mentioned, and it was tough because I was a psychiatric nurse at the time, and they were having some difficult times and we didn't have the ability to care for the people as we do now," said Korean War Veteran Patricia Finder-Stone.
A number of veterans groups were on hand.
There was also a free raffle which included Packers tickets and golf packages.
