BERLIN - A Civil War monument in Berlin has been rededicated.
A ceremony was held today, and attended by members of the Berlin Historical Society and Sons of Union Veterans.
The monument in Nathan Strong Park is more than 100 years old -- it was built in 1894.
Some people wore clothing from that time to commemorate the event.
The historical society says its important to keep alive past traditions honoring fallen soldiers.
"We actually used a ritual from the sons of union veterans group here which is represented and its the exact same ritual they've used for over 100 years," Dan Freimark of the Berlin Historical Society said.
Next year will mark 150 years since the end of the Civil War.
