GREEN BAY (WLUK) -- The Coast Guard will start breaking the ice on the bay of Green Bay on Tuesday.

Ice breaking will start in the areas used for recreational activities, like the Fox River Entrance Channel, the Sturgeon Bay Ship Canal, Menominee River Entrance, and the waters of Little Bay De Noc near Escanaba.

The Coast Guard will be out breaking the ice more often as the ice continues to melt and waterways are used for travel.

For those wanting to use the ice for ATV driving, ice fishing and other winter activities, the Coast Guard warns that the ice isn't stable.
