GREEN BAY - Badger State Brewing Company says its moving forward with plans to expand its operations, allowing for statewide distribution.

The city's plan commission Monday signed off on the brewer's request to expand in its facility at 990 Tony Canadeo Run.

"Right now, all systems are a go," said Andrew Fabry, the company's president.

The first phase of the 20,000 square foot expansion will add a taproom, event space and new, higher volume brewing equipment.

"Initially, we're slotted for 2,500 barrels in the first year of production," said Fabry of the new brewing system.

Additional phases for the one-year-old company will add an outdoor beer garden and a packaging line.

Fabry says the expansion will not interrupt current beer production and hopes to have the expansion finished by the end of July.
