Art takes over the streets of downtown Green Bay
GREEN BAY - Art forms of all kinds will fill the streets of downtown Green Bay over the weekend for the 33rd annual Artstreet event.
Eight city blocks will showcase paintings, crafts, performing arts and children's activities from 200 artists from across the country.
Half of those artists are taking part in the preview event Friday night.
Tina Quigley from Mosaic Arts, the company that puts on the event, says it's important to represent many different forms of art.
"It's a really great opportunity for individual artists, musicians, and arts organizations to kind of come outside of their galleries and theatres into the streets of downtown all in one place. You know it brings the arts into one central place and really provides an opportunity for those groups to promote their year round activities."
Here are Artstreet's hours:
- Friday, August 22, 4:00 pm - 11:00 pm
(Art Fair until 8:00 pm; Music and Food until 11:00 pm)
- Saturday, August 23, 10:00 am - 10:00 pm
