APPLETON – City leaders are working on a plan to fix the Olde Oneida Street Bridge.

There has been a 10-ton weight limit on the bridge since last month, when a routine inspection deterioration in several bridge supports.

The supports were repaired in 2000, the city says, but the inspection raised safety concerns.

The public works department is working with a structural engineering company to design a repair. The department will then ask the city council to approve funds for the project to be done in September or October.

The bridge would need to be closed for a week during the repairs.
