BLACK CREEK (WLUK) -- One person died and four others were injured as a result of a crash involving a sheriff's deputy.

The Outagamie County Sheriff's Office says the crash happened just before 8 a.m. Friday at the intersection of State (Hwy. 54) and Beech streets in Black Creek. The squad car was headed west on State Street when, according to witness statements, another car headed south on Beech Street did not yield at a stop sign and hit the squad car.

There were four people, all from Seymour, inside the southbound car. They were all taken to the hospital. A 94-year-old woman died at the hospital. The 70-year-old driver sustained serious injuries, but is expected to survive. Two other passengers, a 76-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman, were also injured.

The sheriff's deputy, a 26-year veteran of the department, was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Roads in the area were closed for three hours after the crash. The State Patrol continues to investigate.
