BLACK CREEK (WLUK) -- One person died and four others were injured as a result of a crash involving a sheriff's deputy.
The Outagamie County Sheriff's Office says the crash happened just before 8 a.m. Friday at the intersection of State (Hwy. 54) and Beech streets in Black Creek. The 70-year-old driver sustained serious injuries, but is expected to survive. Two other passengers, a 76-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman, were also injured.
The sheriff's deputy, a 26-year veteran of the department, was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Roads in the area were closed for three hours after the crash. The State Patrol continues to investigate.
