Oshkosh man sentenced in fatal drug OD case
GREEN BAY (WLUK) -- An Oshkosh man has been sentenced to federal prison for delivering drugs that prosecutors say killed an Appleton woman.
According to prosecutors, Anthony R. Chaplin, 41, admitted dealing what he believed to be heroin to Joy Strader several times. In May 2017, however, he sold her a batch which he did not know contained a potent form of the drug fentanyl. At the same time, he also sold her methamphetamine. Autopsy results showed she died of a combination of the two drugs.
Chaplin was sentenced to 20 years in prison, followed by five years on supervised release.
