Parents convicted in child abuse case
GREEN BAY (WLUK) – Two parents charged with starving one of their children have now been convicted of child abuse.
Bradley Fahrenkrug pleaded no contest Tuesday to one count of neglecting a child resulting in great bodily harm. Four other counts were dismissed. Sentencing is scheduled for June 25.
Two weeks ago, Kimberly Fahrenkrug also pleaded no contest to neglecting a child resulting in great bodily harm, while four other counts were dismissed but can be considered at her May 22 sentencing.
They were charged after doctors treated their son, 5, who weighed just 29 pounds. He told police the boy is prone to violent fits, and sometimes would refuse to eat. He said they sought treatment for the boy, who they adopted, and noted that they did not have the same behavioral issues with their biological children, according to the criminal complaint.
