Oshkosh man pleads guilty in woman's overdose death
GREEN BAY (WLUK) -- An Oshkosh man is facing a life sentence in the overdose death of an Appleton-area woman earlier this year.
Anthony Chaplin, 40, pleaded guilty Monday to distribution of fentanyl and methamphetamine resulting in death.
According to prosecutors, Chaplin admitted he sold an Appleton-area woman fentanyl and methamphetamine in May of 2017. Chaplin said he received the fentanyl from his drug supplier in Oshkosh and later sold a portion of it to the Appleton-area woman, court documents say.
The supplier's batch of fentanyl has been linked to four other overdose deaths in the Fox Valley, prosecutors say.
The investigation into the other overdose deaths continues.
Chaplin is scheduled to be sentenced Feb. 20, 2018.
