Man, woman arrested in Forest Co. heroin overdose death
CRANDON (WLUK) -- Two people were arrested in connection with an apparent heroin overdose death in Crandon earlier this month.
Forest County sheriff's officials say they were called to a home in Crandon Jan. 20 for a report of a male who was not breathing. Efforts to revive him failed.
Investigators say information and evidence led them to believe the victim had taken heroin before he died.
Five days later, deputies made a traffic stop as part of the investigation. During the traffic stop, officers arrested Heather A. Grisius, 30, and Joseph M. Grisius, 55. Deputies say they found a loaded 9 mm handgun, heroin, cocaine, narcotic pills, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Investigators also searched the Grisiuses' home in Langlade County, where they found heroin, cocaine, marijuana, narcotic pills, a gun, drug paraphernalia and cash.
Neither Heather nor Joseph Grisius has been formally charged in the case, though they are expected in court Wednesday.
Investigators say more arrests could be made in the case.
