OSHKOSH (WLUK) -- Two schools were locked down for about half an hour Wednesday while Oshkosh police investigated an incident nearby.

Police say they were called to the area of Evans Street and E. Lincoln Avenue just after noon. The initial call was for an armed robbery, but once on scene, officers discovered that it was a disturbance among several people who knew each other. Police say they are still looking for one person in connection with the case, but they say there is no threat to the community.

Because the incident happened to be near Emmeline Cook and Webster Stanley schools, they were both put on lockdown briefly.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Winnebago County Wide Crime Stoppers by phone at (920) 231-8477, by text message with the keyword IGOTYA to 274637 or online.
