Ingredients:2 lbs. lean ground beef or ground lamb1 teaspoon dried oregano leaves1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese3 cloves garlic, mincedSalt and pepper 3/4 cup cup plain yogurt1/2 cup sour cream1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice1 clove garlic, minced2 tablespoon chopped fresh dill or mint1 Tbsp. chopped fresh mint leaves 1/2 cup finely chopped cucumber1 cup seeded and diced tomatoes 1/2 cup finely diced red onion6 to 8 pita pocketsDirections:In large bowl, combine ground beef or lamb with oregano, feta, garlic , and salt and pepper. Shape into 6 to 8 patties depending on the size you want.In small bowl, combine yogurt, sour cream, dill or mint, lemon juice, mint, cucumbers and salt and pepper to taste and mix. Refrigerate while cooking burgers.Cook patties until thoroughly cooked and no longer pink in center, turning once. Serve in pita breads with tomato, onions and yogurt sauce. Makes 6 to 8 sandwiches.
