in a small sauce pot, bring to a boil:
1 cup distilled white vinegar
1 cup sugar
3/4 cup water
1/2 tsp salt
let simmer for 2 minutes until sugar and salt dissolve. Place sauce pot in a large bowl of ice to cool for thirty minutes.
Slice 2-3 cucumber very thin and place them in a glass jar along with 1 small onion thinly sliced and 2 Tblsp. Chopped fresh dill. Pour the liquid over the cucumbers and place in refrigerator over night.
in a glass bowl add:
5 Tbsp ground mustard seeds (grind them in a coffee grinder)
1/2 cup mustard powder
1 tsp salt
Add to the dish:
1/4 cup beer
1/4 cup water
Let set up for 10 minutes. This will strengthen the mustard. After ten minutes, the longer you let it sit, the mellower the mustard will be. Add to the dish:
2 Tbsp Sherry vinegar
1 Tbsp White wine
1 Tbsp Honey
Stir to combine. Let set up in fridge overnight. Mustard will thicken as it sets.
For the Brat Slider Assembly:
You can make homemade brat patties by using ground pork and brat seasoning, but to save time, I buy the best quality brats in casing, then cut the casing and remove the pork. Place all of the mixture in a mixing bowl and form small patties. Grill over medium to medium high heat until fully cooked through. Place patty on a small rye dinner roll, top with homemade mustard and homemade refrigerator pickles. Enjoy!
