      Using watermelon in unique ways: cocktail and appetizer

      GREEN BAY - Daniel Fisher and Jacqueline Gillespie of Indulge Catering showed us how to turn a summertime favorite into some unique dishes perfect for a garden party. Impress your guests with these recipes for a Cucumber and Watermelon Gin-tini and a Watermelon BLT Crostini. You can sample the crostini on Monday, August 4th because Indulge Catering will be taking part in Feast with the Beasts at the NEW ZOO in Suamico.Watermelon BLT CrostiniIngredients:1 BaguetteHalf & Half Melted Butter and Olive Oil2 Tomatoes2 Pieces of Bacon1 Watermelon 1/4 Cup Blue Cheese1 Cup ArugulaDirections:Cut Baguette into Crostinis, brush with Butter and Olive Oil mixture. Bake at 375 degrees for around 7 minutes. (Until lightly browned).Cook Bacon until crisp & crush into Bacon Bits.Dice Watermelon and Tomatoes.Build Crostinis with Arugula, Tomatoes, Watermelon, Blue Cheese Crumbles and top with Bacon Bits.Cucumber & Watermelon Gin-tiniIngredients:Watermelon1 Cucumber3 Shots of GinIceDirections:In a shaker with ice, add a few cubes of watermelon, 4 slices of cucumber and 3 shots of gin.Shake Roughly 15 times.Pour in a glass over ice, or into a martini glass.
