41st annual Bellin Run a success
GREEN BAY (WLUK) -- It's a yearly event that keeps people coming back for more, the Bellin Run.
"This event is such a wonderful community event when it comes to participants, spectators, sponsors, everybody out on the course," said Linda Maxwell, assistant race director.
As people begin to line the street and warm up, the Hannon family prepares for their first Bellin Run together.
"The kids got excited about running so they had been doing the kids run and that type of stuff and they've joined the running club at school," said Becky Hannon.
She has run the Bellin before but this year the kids decided to join her for a little family fun.
When asked what they're excited for, Ashton Hannon said, "Starting and finishing."
"I've got to beat them all," said Zoey Hannon.
There's nothing wrong with a little bit of family competition!
As for dad? He's there to cheer them on and maybe next year he'll join in on the run.
"I'm proud of them all, they'll eventually make me do this more often so that will be good," said Nic Hannon.
Kiprono, of Kenya, was the first place finisher on the men's side with a time of 29:11.
The first woman to cross the finish line was Kaitlin Gregg Goodman of Rhode Island with a time of 34:35.
