Woman injured in Winnebago Co. crash

Update: The State Patrol has identified the victim as Helene Meyer, 70, of Washington Island. They say her injuries are now listed as life threatening.


TOWN OF NEKIMI – A woman is in the hospital after a single-vehicle crash in Winnebago County.

It happened around 1:30 p.m. Thursday on U.S. 41 northbound at County Rd. Z in the town of Nekimi.

State Patrol officials say a 70-year-old woman from Washington Island went off the road and hit a concrete barrier.

The woman was transported to Theda Clark Medical Center in Neenah. Authorities say she has very serious injuries.
