The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection reported this week that first quarter totals continue to be on the same record pace as the last three quarters of 2013.
The number of export certificates issued by the department between January and March is up 60 percent when compared to last year and 11 percent above the previous record-high in 2010.
Products requiring the certificates to export include nursery plants, grain and seed, lumber and decorate materials.
Corn, soybean and wood products make up 98 percent of certified shipments. Last year nearly $870 million worth of plant products were shipped from Wisconsin.
The largest markets are southeast Asia, China and Taiwan.
