Fifty-five-year-old Sean Legault is charged with failure to provide sufficient food for animals and failure to properly dispose of an animal carcass.
Lafayette County Sheriff Scott Pedley says deputies seized 11 of 12 horses from Legault's property Tuesday and took them to another farm.
Authorities are trying to subdue the 12th horse and move him to the same location with the other horses.
Deputies contacted Legault after people reported the horses weren't receiving hay. The Wisconsin State Journal (http://bit.ly/1jTgzJT) reports Legault was directed to increase the feed but deputies determined he wasn't complying.
