MADISON - Gov. Scott Walker has appointed three new members of the University of Wisconsin System Board of Regents and one new member of the Wisconsin Technical College System Board.Jose Delgado of Brookfield has been appointed to a seven-year term to the Board of Regents. Delgado graduated from Marquette University with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and a master's in electrical engineering. He also earned a master's from UW-Milwaukee in business administration. Delgado worked for We Energies for 27 years, where he began as an electrical engineer, and climbed the ranks to Vice President of Electric System Operations. He left to oversee the creation of American Transmission Company, where he served as President and Chief Executive Officer for eight years before retiring. Delgado serves on the South Eastern Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission, the Greater Milwaukee Committee, and on the advisory committees for UW-Milwaukee, Marquette University, and St. Anthony School System.Eve Hall of New Berlin has also been appointed to a seven-year term. Hall worked for the Family Service of Milwaukee, the Milwaukee Public School System and the Milwaukee office of Gov. Tommy Thompson. While in these positions, Hall worked to improve legislation for families and education and led many efforts in education reform. In 2001, Hall began working with the Thurgood Marshall College Fund, Inc. During her tenure, she directed a national school redesign program and coordinated international opportunities for students in historically black colleges and universities through a partnership with the U.S. State Department. Currently, she is the African American Chamber of Commerce President focusing on the development of African American owned businesses.Anicka Purath of Mount Pleasant has been appointed to a one-year term as the traditional student representative. The sophomore political science major at UW-La Crosse replaces Chad Landes, who will be graduating in May. Purath has been a member of the UW-La Crosse Lions Club, Volunteering Within Club, and Pre-Law Association for two years. In addition to being an active club member, she spends much of her time volunteering for various La Crosse organizations - the YMCA, La Crosse Children's Museum, and Norskedalen Nature and Heritage Center. Meanwhile, Susan Schaumburg has been appointed to a two-year term on the Wisconsin Technical College System Board. She worked as a certified nursing assistant and is returning to school to become a registered nurse. Her past experience includes work as an event coordinator, and she assisted in planning and organizing the National Governor's Association Summer Meeting in Milwaukee in August 2013. Schaumburg currently serves on the Higher Educational Aids Board.All appointments need to be confirmed by the state Senate.
