OSHKOSH, Wis. - The UW-Oshkosh football team is bolstering its 2014 non-conference schedule.The university announced Wednesday afternoon that it will travel to Brookings, South Dakota to take on South Dakota State on September 20.The Jackrabbits are a member of the Football Championship Series, formerly known as Division I-AA. South Dakota State finished 9-5 last season and lost in the second round of the FCS playoffs.The Titans have not played such a highly affiliated opponent since 1975 when they took on Eastern Kentucky University.
The announcement from UW-Oshkosh said the game against South Dakota State will be a night game, but a kickoff time was not announced.The Titans open the season on September 6 when they will host Robert Morris University. Conference action kicks off on October 4 when UW-Oshkosh hosts UW-Stout.UW-O will travel to take on WIAC rival, and defending Division III champion, UW-Whitewater on October 25.UW-Oshkosh has gone 28-6 over the past three seasons. The Titans aim for their fourth straight winning record for the first time since 1925. UW-Oshkosh was 8-2 last season and a third-place finisher in the WIAC (5-2).
