The piglets are alive today because of firefighters and emergency medical technicians from Boyceville, who are nursing them back to health at the fire station.
Firefighters responded to a barn fire north of Boyceville Sunday and were able to save three in a farrow of piglets by giving them oxygen. Two of the piglets are a couple days old. The other is a few weeks older.
EMT Tonya Schutts tells WEAU-TV the piglets have to be fed every two hours and are getting better each day. Shutts says the pigs are finally starting to move around the fire station. Firefighters have named them by size. The older one is Big Pig. The middle one is just plain Pig and the littlest one is Runt.
