GRAND CHUTE - Do you have a sweet tooth? If you answered yes, you might have wanted to be in the Fox Valley Saturday.

People gathered for the annual Maple Syrup Saturday at the Gordon Bubolz Nature Preserve in Grand Chute.

Sugar-lovers got an up-close-and-personal look at how maple syrup is made. Plus, they could take part in a pancake breakfast to try out the syrup for themselves.

Organizers say this year's cold winter made it challenging for the maple syrup season.

"It pushes it back, but it can also lessen the amount of sap we can collect as well. It really depends upon the trees, and how quickly it will warm up," said naturalist Courtney Osenroth.

Organizers say the public can always come out and check out the buckets.

This was the 33rd year for the event.
