Suspect shot and killed in Dunn County drug raid

TOWN OF RED CEDAR, Wis. (AP) - Authorities say a suspect was shot and killed when drug agents executed a search warrant in a Dunn County town.

A statement from Dunn County Sheriff Dennis Smith says officers from his department, the West Central Drug Task Force and the Eau Claire County Regional Tactical Team were executing the warrant in the Town of Red Cedar shortly before 2 a.m. Wednesday when a confrontation took place and the suspect was fatally wounded by officers.

The Wisconsin Department of Justice has been called to investigate. Officers involved in the shooting are on administrative leave.
