APPLETON - Music is taking over downtown Appleton.

The Street Music Week festival kicked off today and runs through Friday.

Music filled the streets with lunchtime concerts on College Avenue Monday. And it's for a good cause. The event is raising money for Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin.

Performers say it feels good to give back.

"It's been really fun to be part of just having music up and down the street and to do it for a whole week is a fun thing," Dorris Olson of Appleton said.

Since the event started last year, Street Music Week has attracted more than 150 performers. They've collectively raised more than $1,600 to feed the hungry.
