GREEN BAY - It was all things electric for some area Boy Scouts Saturday.

About 40 local scouts took part in the 62nd annual electricity merit badge clinic.

Wisconsin Public Service line electricians, engineers and volunteers were on hand to assist the scouts with their projects.

The scouts learned how to read a meter, calculate a bill and much more.

WPS officials say it's important to spread some electric knowledge.

"We have a number of people who are electrical engineers, electrical lineman, so we have a number of different expertise in the field. So we just want to share our expertise and teach the students how to be safe using electricity," said Lynn Kroll with Wisconsin Public Service.

The program first started in 1952.

Organizers say they hope to continue to educate today's youth about the importance of electricity.
