Police say the incident happened around 8 a.m. Monday at Madison Elementary School. School officials told police a man had touched the child, who was working as a student crossing guard. The man was last seen walking south on N. 4th St. The victim and a witness provided police with a description of the man, who was arrested a few minutes later.
The man admitted to detectives he touched the child over the clothing as he walked past, police said. He is expected in court at 1 p.m. today.
The man has not yet been formally charged in the case.
