Phoenix drop heartbreaker in WNIT

MINNEAPOLIS - Tesha Buck scored 18 points in her return to her home state of Minnesota.

It was not enough to fuel a Green Bay win in the first round of the Women's National Invitation Tournament.

The Phoenix fell 62-60 to Minnesota at Williams Arena on Wednesday night.

Buck, a native of Red Wing, Minn., led Green Bay in scoring with 18.  Kaili Lukan added 15 and Sam Terry scored 10.

Green Bay was up by 10 points at the half, but could not hold off the Lady Gophers on their home floor.

Minnesota was led by Rachel Banham, who scored 31 points.  Amanda Zahui added 17 points and 14 rebounds.  Banham hit a three-point shot late in the game that gave Minnesota a 61-60 lead.  Green Bay could not score off an inbounds pass with less than 10 seconds to go.

The Phoenix finish the season at 22-10.
