Twenty-year-old Nicholas Kapusniak was fatally shot while standing with a group of friends in the backyard of a home near the campus of St. Louis College of Pharmacy Saturday. Fellow student Jacob Beyer says he, Kapusniak and about 20 others were "just hanging out" when the shots were fired from a nearby alley.
St. Louis Police Chief Sam Dotson told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch there was no confrontation that provoked the shooting.
Kapusniak was a 2011 graduate of Catholic Memorial High School in Waukesha. The pharmacy school says Kapusniak was a member of the class of 2017 and the Alpha Zeta Omega professional fraternity.
