Notre Dame baseball falls short in state tournament

Notre Dame has fallen short in its bid to advance to the state title game.They played Jefferson in the Division II semifinal Wednesday night.It was a late game at Fox Cities Stadium in Grand Chute because of rain delays.The Eagles got on the board in the fourth inning.Jacob Nelson drove in two runs with a single to center.Then in the seventh inning, the wheels fell off for the Tritons.Third baseman Charlie Rotherham misplayed the popup in the infield. That scored two runs.Jefferson scored seven runs in the inning.They went on to win 11-0, to earn a spot in the title game.Notre Dame managed just one hit.
