Kenna Bowe was sentenced to 14 years in prison for giving her six-year-daughter the pills. Prosecutors say she also tried to stab her boyfriend while he slept, but he escaped. She was convicted of attempted first-degree intentional homicide.
After being sentenced, Bowe successfully appealed, arguing the amount of drugs could not have killed the girl. Bowe was then able to withdraw the no contest plea she had entered.
According to online court records, Bowe's attorney has also filed a motion to dismiss the charges, claiming 'vindictive prosecution.' A motions hearing is scheduled for April 30. Her new trial date is August 4.
