Man suffers serious injuries in Dodge Co. hit-and-run

TOWN OF BEAVER DAM - Dodge County sheriff's officials say a car hit a Beaver Dam man as he was walking just south of the city limits early Sunday morning.

It happened just after 2:30 on Madison St. in the Town of Beaver Dam.

A witness told police he and the victim were walking when a dark colored sedan came up behind them at an estimated 40 to 45 mph and struck the victim from behind.

Officials say the driver did not stop and left the scene traveling southbound.

A witness indicates that there should be significant damage to the right front corner of the vehicle and possibly the windshield.

The 33-year-old male victim was taken to the Beaver Dam Community Hospital. He was later transported to UW Hospital in Madison for life threatening injuries.

The Dodge County Crash Investigation Team responded to the scene to assist. Evidence has been collected and the investigation is ongoing.
